How fridge pickup works
- 1
Snap a photo
When you book, send a quick picture of the fridge or appliance and where it’s sitting. We quote off the photo so the price is locked before we roll up.
- 2
Pick your 2-hour window
Choose any window from 6 AM to 8 PM, seven days a week. Same-day is available when the schedule allows.
- 3
We load it from outside
Have it in the garage, driveway, carport, or against an exterior wall. Our crew lifts it, dollies it out, and gets it on the truck.
- 4
We dispose of it the right way
The refrigerant is handled per EPA rules and the metal gets recycled. You’re only charged once it’s gone.
Single appliances start at $99, photo-quoted so the number you see is the number you pay. See pricing, compare bulk item pickup if you’ve got more than one, then book online in about two minutes.
Why fridges & freezers are different
A refrigerator isn’t regular junk. Sealed inside the compressor is refrigerant — the gas most people still call freon — plus oil, and federal EPA rules require it to be recovered by a certified tech before the unit can be scrapped. That’s why you can’t just drag it to the curb, and why most scrap yards turn away a fridge that hasn’t been certified refrigerant-free.
We take care of all of it — proper refrigerant recovery, then recycling the metal — so a dead fridge doesn’t become your legal problem. Want the full rundown before you book? Read our guide on how to dispose of a refrigerator and its freon in Florida.
Before we arrive, please:
- Empty all food & shelves
- Unplug it a day ahead and let frost melt
- Wipe up standing water so it doesn’t drip
- Disconnect water lines (icemaker) and gas (ranges)
- Set it somewhere we can reach from outside
No curbside pickup? That’s exactly why we’re here
Most of Marion County has no curbside bulk pickup and no residential curbside recycling, so a broken-down fridge or freezer can sit in the garage for years with nowhere to go. We bring the truck to you, load it from the garage or driveway, and haul it off — no dump run, no certified tech to track down, no piles left behind.
Clearing out more than one appliance, or a whole kitchen? Pair it with a garage or property cleanout or steady recycling pickup and we’ll knock it out in one visit. We cover Ocala, Gainesville, The Villages, and all of North Central Florida.
Appliance removal questions, answered
Why can’t I just put my old fridge at the curb?
Refrigerators, freezers, and AC units contain refrigerant — what most folks still call freon — plus compressor oil. Federal EPA rules (Section 608 of the Clean Air Act) require that refrigerant be recovered by a certified technician before the appliance can be scrapped, so it’s illegal to just toss one. On top of that, most of Marion County has no curbside bulk pickup at all, so a fridge left out front simply sits there. We handle the refrigerant recovery and recycling so you don’t have to think about any of it. Want the full breakdown? Read our guide on how to dispose of a refrigerator and its freon in Florida.
Do I need to empty or defrost the refrigerator first?
Please do — it makes the haul safe and clean. Empty out all food and shelves, unplug it at least a day ahead, and let any freezer frost melt so it isn’t dripping or sloshing on the way out. Prop the doors so it can air out, and wipe up any standing water. If it’s a chest freezer, the same goes — defrosted and dry. A clean, empty unit is lighter, won’t leak in the truck, and keeps the job quick.
How much does fridge or appliance removal cost?
Single-appliance pickups start at $99, and your exact price is set from the photo you send when you book — no surprises on the day. Got more than one appliance, or a fridge plus a pile of other junk? It’s often cheaper to bundle it. See the full breakdown on our pricing page and our bulk item pickup options.
Where do I need to put the fridge for pickup?
Anywhere accessible from the outside. We’re exterior-only, so the appliance needs to be in the garage, carport, driveway, against an exterior wall, on a porch, or curbside — not inside the home. As long as our crew can reach it and a dolly can get to it, we’ll take it from there. If you’re in Ocala, Gainesville, The Villages, or anywhere across Marion and Alachua counties, we come to you.
