Piano Removal & Disposal in Ocala & Gainesville
An old piano is one of the hardest things in the house to get rid of — 300 to 1,000-plus pounds of iron and hardwood that can’t go curbside and nobody wants secondhand. Bingo Pickup hauls it away, disassembling it if that’s what it takes to get it out.
Get a Photo QuoteOld pianos we haul away
A dead piano is too heavy for two friends and a pickup, too big for the curb, and worth almost nothing on the resale market. If it’s a piano or organ you’re done with, there’s a good chance we can get it out and load it up in a single trip.
Upright pianos
Full-size uprights run 350–500+ lbs of cast iron and hardwood. We tip, dolly, and haul them out in one trip.
Spinet & console pianos
The smaller spinets and consoles still tip the scales at 300–400 lbs — too heavy and awkward for curbside.
Baby grand & grand pianos
Grands can top 600–1,000+ lbs. We remove the legs, lyre, and lid, then move the case in pieces.
Player & antique pianos
Old player pianos and turn-of-the-century uprights are the heaviest of all. Dead or alive, we’ll take it.
Electric & digital pianos
Broken keyboards, digital pianos, and organs that nobody will buy — hauled off with the bench and stand.
Organs & piano benches
Bulky church-style and home organs, plus the benches and stools that come with them.
We do not pick up items from inside the home. Items must be placed curbside, outside, in the driveway, garage, apartment exterior, business exterior, storage unit, or another accessible pickup location.
How piano disposal works
- 1
Send us photos
Snap a few pictures of the piano and the path out — doorways, stairs, tight hallways — when you book. We quote off the photos so the price is locked before we show up.
- 2
We plan the move-out
We figure out whether the piano comes out whole or needs to be disassembled, and what dollies and straps the job calls for.
- 3
We disassemble if needed
For grands and tight exits we take off legs, the lyre, lid, and hardware so every piece clears the doorway safely.
- 4
We haul it all away
Piano, bench, hardware, and any packing material all go on the truck. You’re left with an open, swept spot — no dead piano in the room.
It’s all photo-quoted at truckload pricing, so the number you see is the number you pay. See the truckload pricing page, then book online in about two minutes.

Downsizing in The Villages or rural Marion County
We haul a lot of old pianos out of The Villages, where folks are downsizing and the family piano nobody plays anymore needs to go. Marion County also has no residential curbside recycling and little to no curbside bulk pickup, so a 400-pound upright can sit in a spare room for years. We bring the truck to you, get the piano out — in pieces if we have to — and haul it off for good.
Clearing out more than the piano? Pair it with a full home or estate cleanout and we’ll knock it all out in one visit. We cover Ocala, Gainesville, The Villages, and all of North Central Florida — see every spot on our service areas page.
Piano removal questions, answered
How much does piano removal cost in Ocala?
Piano disposal is priced by the truckload, based on the photos you send when you book — so there are no surprises on the day. A piano takes up a big chunk of the truck and is heavy and awkward to move, so it usually sits at the higher end of a single-item job. See our truckload pricing on the pricing page, and your exact quote is confirmed before we lift a thing.
Do you move pianos, or just get rid of them?
We’re a disposal and haul-away service, not a piano-moving company. If you want a piano relocated to another room or a new home in good condition, hire a specialty piano mover. What we do is get rid of the old piano nobody wants — haul it out of the house and off your property for good. We don’t tune, repair, or resell.
There are stairs and a tight doorway. Can you still get it out?
Usually, yes. That’s exactly why we ask for photos of the piano and the path out when you book. Stairs, narrow hallways, and tight turns are no problem — for grands and tricky exits we disassemble the piano (legs, lyre, lid, and hardware) so it clears the opening safely. We work exterior-only, so the piano does need to be somewhere we can reach it from outside the home.
Is removing a grand piano different from an upright?
It is. An upright or spinet can often roll out on a dolly in one piece, while a grand or baby grand usually has to come apart — legs off, lyre and pedals out, lid removed — and travel as a flat case plus parts. Grands are also heavier, often 600 to 1,000-plus pounds. Either way it’s photo-quoted, so the weight and the disassembly are already figured into your price before we arrive.
